Do you need a Premium or a Diesel?
Attendant: Welcome to Chevron, what can I do for you?
Kathie: Please help me refill my car with Premium.
Attendant: Ok, Ma’am, how many liters do you need?
Kathie: I will have full tank please.
Attendant: All right, Ma’am.
Kathie: How much does one liter cost now?
Attendant: It’s $3.427 per liter, Ma’am.
Kathie: The oil price hike is really affecting consumers nowadays.
Attendant: Yes, Ma’am, it is a sad reality. We are even luckier now since they have announced a rollback
on the price of gasoline.
Kathie: That’s good news. Anyway, how much do I need to pay?
Attendant: Your bill is a worth $46.27, for 13.5 liters.
Kathie: I’ll pay that in cash.
Attendant: I’ll just give this to the cashier.
Attendant: Ma’am, I’ve finished cleaning your windshield. Would you like me to add water on your radia-
tor?
Kathie: Oh, that would be great, thanks!
Attendant: Here’s your change and receipt. Thank you for coming and see us again.
Kathie: Thanks for the good service. Keep the change. Bye
1. Do you think that cars and gasoline are necessities?
Sample answer:
Yes, cars and gasoline are part of man’s necessities. Transportation makes our life easier. We can
reach our destinations the fastest and easiest way, but if we do not have our own car, there are
other several means of transportation. We can use the bus, taxicab and train, not to mention
the airplane or ship. Bicycles and boats are also on the list since the price of gasoline is too high,
nowadays.
2. Do you think that the increase on the price of gasoline greatly affects the
market today?
