July 16, 2011. The probe entered orbit around Vesta and
is now gathering information about the giant asteroid.
The spacecraft was launched in September 2007 and
slowly made its way toward the asteroid for the past
four years. The Dawn probe will continue to orbit Vesta.
After it has gathered enough information, the spacecraft
will then head towards another asteroid in the asteroid
belt.
