1. You are doing business with an American company. You want to import ro-
bots to the US. Pretend that you are having a meeting with your staff. Pres-
ent suggestions in identifying the possible models that will sell well there.
                  Consider the following aspects.

                 a. tasks that can be performed
                 b. price range
                 c. special features

                  Sample answer:
We are now preparing for our big deal with our American business partners. Next week, we will
be presenting a line up of models, which we will tap for this project. What we have to decide
on in this meeting is the item line up that we will present. First, we have to consider the tasks
that the model performs, and check if the tasks are consistent with the needs of our target
American buyers. Next, we have to modify our price range. Since we will be dealing with a dif-
ferent market, we naturally have to make some adjustments regarding the price. We also have
to check if our items need to be enhanced in order to fully address the needs of our new target
market. We should remember that we manufactured our models with our local market in mind.
We may have to add in some more special features in our models to make them more popular
                  in the American market.

               2. You are selecting some existing models for enhancement. Your feedback will
be given to the production and creative teams. Identify a model and justify
why it needs enhancement by discussing the points below.

                 a.portability
                 b.manufacturing costs

                  Sample answer:
We will soon be venturing into a bigger project with foreign business partners. In preparation
for that, we need to enhance our products. For example, we have to keep up with the immense
portability features of our rivals in the foreign market. If we want to survive, we also have to
upgrade our product’s portability. We also have to review our manufacturing costs and see if
they can be lowered. We need a big capital for our international deal, so we’re looking for other
means where we can get extra money to add to our capital. Lowering manufacturing costs is
just one of our many alternatives. I hope that you will help us move towards our goal of moving
                  into the international domain.
