               The selection of models





               John: As I said, the first point to consider is the objective of the venture.
               Yoon: That’s right. The objective of the venture is our first concern. Please go ahead, Mr. John.

               John: OK. We consider this deal as a local production and marketing project under our company’s
                  name. We have big plans for this project. I am glad to inform you that some of the industrial ro-
                  bot models currently manufactured by your company, WK Company are included in  the  deal.
                  You should be very proud.
               Yoon: You mean all of the models we’re manufacturing are included in the deal?
               John: Not all of your models but some. Our company has selected those that we thought would
                  find a market in the United States, but the final line up of robot models would be agreed upon
                  by both companies at the time of establishment of the joint venture. Are you amenable to this
                  agreement?
               Yoon: Yes, Mr. John. We are happy that you have chosen our robot models for your big project. We
                  will help you in selecting models that will fit the needs and lifestyle of your clients.








               1.  How do you select products for export or import?


                  Sample answer:
                  We have a team that researches on the needs and wants of our target market. We consider
                  these factors in deciding which of our models get to be exported or imported.

               2.  Which model among your line of products sells well? Why?

                  Sample answer:
                  Our bestseller is the Ultra Slim Notebook. I think people love it so much because it’s tailored to
                  their specific needs. It was specially created for our target market.
               3.  How do you select a model that you present to a business partner?


                  Sample answer:
                  Well, we naturally choose the best, but more importantly, we consider the needs of our busi-
                  ness partner. We consider this as one of the main factors in selecting a model for presentation.
                  There are times when our best item does not necessarily address all the needs of our business
                  partner. We try to avoid making this kind of assumptions.
