The importance of pH in swimming pools
When talking about the pH of the swimming pool, then we are
talking about the ability of the swimming pool to perform sterilization.
Sterilization of this swimming pool is done using materials such as
chlorine which will only work properly and optimally under certain
conditions. This causes the pH of a pool must be maintained so as
not to make the swimming pool dangerous to use. Then some pH
from a safe swimming pool? The pH of a safe swimming pool ranges
from 7,2 to 7,8.

If the pH condition of the swimming pool ranges below 7,2, causing
items made of metal in the pool to be easily damaged and corroded,
it can also cause pool users to experience itching on the skin and
also red eyes due to irritation. If the pH of the swimming pool is too
high, it can cause the water condition to become cloudy and less
comfortable to use.
To determine the pH of acidic and alkaline solutions can be by
using acid-base indicators such as universal indicators and pH
meters. What if we don't have indicators? Is there another way to find
out the pH of a solution other than using indicators or direct
measurements? How do I do it? According to Sorensen: pH = -log [H ]

So pH can be calculated if [H ] and [OH ] of solution are known. How
+
to find out [H ] and [OH ] from solution?
