Students Placed in WBL Assignments



         Broome High School senior Reagan Henderson began a work-based learning experience
         at Wellness Family Medicine in October of this year.  Reagan is using her technology
         skills to help scan and archive medical documents for this practice.  Reagan will be a
         completer in Information Technology at DMTC and plans to attend a four year college
         after graduation.

         Broome High School senior Donald Jolley began a work-based assignment in September
         working for Spartanburg School District 3.  He spends much of his time helping reimage
         student computers so that they can be put back in use.  Donald will be a triple complet-
         er at DMTC in Information Technology, Marketing, and Finance, which is a great accom-
         plishment.  Donald plans to attend a local technical college after graduation.




          Automotive Students Visit Worldwide Equipment Spartanburg


         On December 6, 2022, Automotive II students visited Worldwide Equipment Spar-
         tanburg, which is a Kenworth truck dealership that offers new equipment, used
         equipment, parts, service, and leasing. Keith Fullen, Service Manager, gave stu-
         dents a tour of the facility and operations. He also came on November 22, 2022,
         and  presented information to the Automotive I and II classes on Co-Op and
         fulltime employment opportunities.




          Health Science and Business Students Visit SRHS


          DMTC students enrolled in Health Science, Finance, and Mar-
          keting visited Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System to hear
          professional panel presentations. The Health Science panel was
          comprised of a critical care nurse, a pharmacist, a respiratory
          therapist, a radiological technician, and a physical therapist
          while representatives from marketing, accounting, manage-
          ment, insurance negotiations, and information technology ad-
          dressed the Finance and Marketing students. Both Panels dis-
          cussed their job responsibilities, rewards, challenges, and ad-
          vancement opportunities.  They shared education requirements
          for their positions, and they took questions from the students as well. The visit provided students val-
          uable information on a wide range of career options in the health care industry.
