Electricity I Class Achieves 100% Pass Rate on OSHA
Many of DMTC’s students are working hard to earn certifica-
tions to help them become Career Ready and more marketa-
ble in the workforce. Congratulations to Mr. Sparks’s Electrici-
ty I class who achieved a 100% pass rate on earning OSHA
certifications. They not only learned important aspects about
safety, but they now have a nationally recognized certification
to take with them when they leave high school.
Machine Tool Students Earn NIMS Certification
We are proud to announce that BHS junior and
Machine II student Kailey Tate along with freshman
and Machine Tool I student Ethan Brown both
earned their first National Institute for Metalwork-
ing Skills (NIMS) certification pertaining to Measure-
ment, Materials, and Safety. According to instructor
Hal Garner, this is a very difficult certification to
earn, so we are especially excited for these two
students. DMTC is proud to offer numerous types of
certifications to students to help them become col-
lege and career ready.
Carpentry Students Tour Tindall
Mr. Medford’s Carpentry II students recently toured the Tindall Infra-
structure Plant. Students got to observe how the company creates pre-
cast concrete structures that are produced in a quality-controlled plant
environment. Keath Roberts, Operations Manager, and Carlin Compton,
Industrial Engineer, gave an overview of the employment opportunities
available at Tindall.
