I started my journey in 2018 after selling my shares of Timeflex Recruitment, a talent acquisition
business focused on the health and social care industry in the UK. The main motivation behind
launching The Southern African Times (SAT) was the belief that Africa was not being accurately

represented by the media, both to its own people and to the rest of the world. Despite numerous
reports highlighting issues with media coverage, such as stereotypes and a focus on negative
stories, progress towards change has been slow.

SAT was created with a clear goal in mind: to reshape African narratives with a focus on investment
and economic development. We believed that by doing so, we could enhance investment interests
for the continent. The aim was to provide market intelligence that would redefine the standard of
access to quality analysis and data in Africa, offering fluid access to data and insights.

Our financial data business, SAT Data, provides financial, economic, and corporate data and analytics
to professionals in the African market. In essence, we aspire to be Africa’s equivalent of Bloomberg.

Although we have faced obstacles along the journey, we have witnessed positive growth in our
reach and have successfully partnered with companies and governments to drive campaigns that
highlight invest opportunities in African countries.

Looking ahead, our vision for the company is to expand our global presence through conferences
and sector-based publications, including those centred around global health, legal affairs, and
travel. We aim to become a valuable source of information and insight for those interested in
            Africa’s investment profile.

In summary, our journey with SAT has been focused on reshaping Africa’s narrative, promoting
investment, and providing quality analysis and data. Despite challenges, we have experienced
growth and have ambitious plans for the future.
