Permanent Colour-Bleach:
Bleach removes all pigments so that the hair reflects as white in visible
light. It is possible to remove varying percentages of pigments to create
different base shades, when it is necessary to achieve a higher target
shade than your natural base shade.
Also, by selecting precise strands throughout the hair and bleaching them
it is possible to create highlights.
Permanent Colour-Hair Dye:
Hair dye plus 75ml 6% hydrogen peroxide dyes hair of the same base
shade or lighter. Hair dye plus 9% hydrogen peroxide lifts the client’s
natural base shade up to one shade and dyes the hair at the same time.
Hair dye stays on the hair until it grows out and is cut off, of course it is
necessary to re-colour the roots as they grow through usually every six
weeks. Try to limit your hydrogen peroxide choice to as low as possible
to avoid excessive fade.
Whichever colouring process you use always be sure to document it. In
short as soon as a client comes for colour open a file, to record that you
carried out a 48 hour skin test and whatever process was carried out.
Ideally it is best to keep these records on computer.
If this is not possible then copy the file below, attaché your business card
in the box, then photocopy a hundred or so and keep them in a ring
binder. (Fig 66.) (Fig 67.) (Fig 68.)
