                        2.3 Hand antisepsis
                       Definition- Use of a waterless, alcohol-based hand rub product to inhibit or kill transient
                       and resident flor
                       Purpose:
                       Is to inhibit or kill transient and resident flora.

                       Indication
                     Before Examining or caring for highly susceptible patients (e.g., premature infants,
                       elderly patients, or those with advanced AIDS)
                     Before Performing an invasive procedure (e.g., intravascular device)
                     Before leaving the room of patients on Contact Precautions

                       Precaution
                       Handwashing with medicated soaps or detergents repeatedly is irritant to the skin
