CHAPTER NEWS

officers for both the Chapter and Camp at our monthly meeting on June 4. The meeting was held at the Green Island Country Club in
Columbus, GA. Bro. Roger Buterbaugh, Regional Representative for West Georgia, served as the Installing Officer and installed Lar-
ry Cox as the new President and Commander. We have grown since restarting in-person meetings earlier this year. We initiated three
new members at our May meeting and one new member at our June meeting. (L-R: Brothers James Tate, Secretary/Treasurer and

MW William L. Greene, Sec./Treas., was honored with the presentation of a framed
charcoal portrait. The portrait, by Massachusetts Mason and artist Travis Simpkins,
was presented by Wor. Jack Hickey, Pres. The presentation was made during a
Zoom meeting on May 18th. We usually meet at Sphinx Shriners in Newington, but
have been meeting exclusively over Zoom for the past year. MW Greene, PGM
(2007), of Masons in Connecticut, has been serving as Secretary/Treasurer and
Adjutant of William Ledyard Camp, since 2011, and has stated his desire to retire
from the position as soon as his successor is trained. Pres. Hickey, a Massachusetts
Mason with Morning Star Lodge of Worcester, MA, commissioned the portrait to
thank MW Greene for ten years of service. In addition to serving as Sec/Treasurer
for the Chapter, MW Bro. Greene is also a member of New London Chapter #58 and
is the Regional Representative for Southern New England. (Article and picture
