On November 9, 2023, members of Melvin W. Byers Chapter #503, Fort
Myers, FL. presented the “Building the Flag” program to the military
veterans, residents, and guests of Fountain Crest Retirement Center, Labelle,
FL. as part of their “Honoring our Military Veterans” celebration. Bro.
Wilhelm Llanillo narrated the program, Bro. James Bolla recited the “Toast
to the Flag” and Bros. Art Pokorny and Jerry Pokorny assisted by “Building
the Flag”. Junior ROTC Cadets from Lee County were also in attendance
and presented Certificates of Appreciation and care packages to each of the
military veterans in attendance. There were over 65 persons in attendance.
