THE KYOTO PROTOCOL

What is the Kyoto Protocol and why do we need it?

It is an international agreement established in Kytoto, Japan on December 1997 ,11 for industrialization nation for the purpose of signi cantly
reducing greenhouse gases (GHG) emission to the Earth’s atmosphere at the level that would eradicate threatening to human life and the
environment. The greenhouse gases (GHG) are mainly emitted as result of human activities and it have been contributed the “global warming
        issue” since the mid20-th century.
What are the greenhouse gases (GHG) and what is e ect of it?

The Greenhouse gases are gases capable to absorb the infrared radiation (net heat energy) that emitted from Earth surface and keeping it
within the Earth atmosphere resulting in the rise of mean temperature values, thus, contribute to greenhouse gases e ect. Below picture
shows the e ect of it.

How many greenhouse gases are there?
Primary greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere are:

Water vapor (H2O). It’s the largest contributor to GHG e ect. Ozone (O3). It’s damaging a range of crops and natural vegetation.
Carbon dioxide (CO2). It’s driving global climate change.
Methane (CH4). It’s the second most important GHG gas. Fluorinated gases (hydro uorocarbons (HFCs), per uorocarbons

Nitrous oxide (N2O). It’s not only a greenhouse gas, but also an ozone destroyer. (PFCs), sulfur hexa uoride (SF6) and nitrogen tri- uoride (NF3)).

How you can help reduce the GHG?

Get a home energy audit. Use energy-saving light bulbs.
Use Renewable energy. Reduce your use of energy reliant products.

        Purchase Solar Panels.
                                                                                                                                                                       4
