Automating Hajj and Umrah Operational
Plans, 2030 Vision
Vision 2030 targeting 15 million Umrah visitors annually
by 2020 and 30 million by 2030, furthermore, targeting
around 4.4 million Pilgrims by the year of 2030.
MASARAT MISR was assigned to build a comprehensive
macroscopic transportation planning model for each
stage of Hajj and Ummrah and develop a micro-
simulation model to evaluate road network
performance under several trafﰁc scenarios. Also,
MASARAT MISR assessed different operation plans for
public transportation in term of the number of buses,
bus scheduling, and origin to destination routing
scenarios.
Suez Canal Transport Interconnection
with Greater Cairo in Egypt
The aim of the study is to propose several road and
rail infrastructure development projects to interconnect
the ports in the study area and more speciﰁcally east Port
Said and Ain Sokhna with the dry ports at 10th of Ramadan,
Ismailia (as well as 6th of October in the case of the port of
Ain Sokhna). MASARAT MISR has provided a detailed
transportation survey design and implementation of trafﰁc
count surveys and roadside interview surveys, on-board
train passenger surveys and public transport’s on-board &
terminal passenger interview survey.
