Cairo Festival City Bike Sharing
System and Bus Routes Planning

Al Futtaim Group-CFC required the consultancy from
MASARAT MISR to provide a full master plan for the bike
sharing system and shuttle bus system inside the city to
provide sustainable means of transportation and relief the
congestion inside the city. MASARAT MISR prepared bike
sharing system master plan including complete street design,
bike and bus routes including bike and shuttle bus stations
design and operational plans.

System Study

Cairo Festival City (CFC) has over 17 million visitors
yearly with peak hour trafﰁc reaching 40,000 vehicles per
hour, causing congestion and delays inside the city and
the surrounding network. Al Futtaim Group-CFC assigned
MASARAT MISR to develop a transportation master plan for
CFC to investigate different land-use scenarios and
potential impacts on road network performance as well as
intersections level of service. Furthermore, MASARAT MISR
developed a comprehensive trafﰁc management study for
CFC and prepare a detailed trafﰁc micro-simulation for the
whole city.
