MASARAT MISR designed a complete trafﰁc plan for
Nasr city in Cairo. The scope includes schematic design of
all the main trafﰁc control devices and components will
be prepared. MASARAT MISR has embedded through
its work the provision of safety, efﰁciency and cost
effectiveness for their design solutions of trafﰁc
connectivity and trafﰁc generation.

MASARAT MISR have developed a comprehensive
planning model to study the impact of the proposed new
master plan on the road network and to investigate the
performance of the road network under different demand
scenarios .The developed model was based on visum
modelling software with the typical structure of the four-
step model; trip generations, trip distribution, mode
choice and assignment. Furthermore, the consultant has
developed a detailed microsimulation trafﰁc model to
study the performance of the intersections under
different intersection control scenarios. Moreover, the
model has been used to test the impact of different
planning scenarios in terms of new highway infrastructure,
new public transport services and different planning
policies compared to the current situations .
