In July we bid farewell to Colonel Worley and thanked him for over

30 years of immense sacrifice in service to the Army and our
st
beloved Finance Corps as the 41 Commandant and Chief of the
Corps. Simultaneously, we welcomed Colonel Michelle Williams

who came to us from the 18 Airborne Corps at Fort Liberty,
formerly known as Fort Bragg. She brings with her an intense
energy and passion for our branch complemented with recent
th
operational experience from the 18 ABC’s operations across Europe. CSM Dodge
These qualities will feed our efforts to develop Soldiers and leaders fully prepared to
embrace the challenges of the evolving nature of how we fight. In the two months since
their transition, there has been no gap in the efforts from the schoolhouse to train our new
Soldiers in Initial Military Training (IMT) and to validate the knowledge, skills, and attributes
of our leaders attending Professional Military Education (PME) courses.

Additionally, with the advocacy of our senior leaders across the branch and the greater
Sustainment enterprise, we have begun to execute the Force Design update that will
radically change how we support the Army as a critical element of the Sustainment
Warfighting Function. Naturally, an enterprise-wide change of this magnitude will be
difficult to manage through the implementation stages and significantly affect our Soldiers
across the force. I have personally witnessed our senior leaders in lock step to ensure that
we are consistent in messaging and ushering in this change to how we fight yet always
with our Finance and Comptroller (FC) Soldiers in mind. Through this change, there is
great opportunity to expand our sphere of influence and ensure our capabilities are
properly trained and exercised.

Lastly, FC Soldiers of all components continue to deploy across the world and engage in
real-world operations. Please keep them in your hearts and minds.
