Mr. Vira Rojpojchanarat
Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Thailand
On behalf of the Ministry of Culture, Kingdom of Thailand, I am delighted to see you
all, the peace lovers and firm believers in the true teachings of the Buddha, getting together to
exchange ideas, find the path and discover new dimensions of Buddhism based upon the true
teachings of the Buddha for the pace and happiness of all mankind in accordance with the wish
of the Buddha.
Attending the General Conference occurring once every two years, it is considered
to be another step to follow one of the Buddhist teachings on the seven principles of
Aparihaniyadhamma, the conditions for societal welfare to meet frequently and hold many
meetings in unity through the virtues of love and loving ~ kindness and share it to our fellow
human beings. This will indeed facilitate you and the rest of the world to become in harmony
with peace and happiness.
The sharing of loving-kindness is a fine tradition of Buddhism. The Buddha teaches us to
share it to all without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion. The Tham Luang Rescue
is a good example of the sharing of loving-kindness. As a result, the Royal Thai Government
was able to harness cooperation and assistance from various volunteer teams around the world.
The modern world is distressed by so many problems. Only through the virtues of love
and loving-kindness can the affliction be terminated. I am confident that this 29 General
th
Conference of The World Fellowship of Buddhists will be another activity to uphold and
promote the Buddhist teachings with love and loving-kindness extended to all sentient beings
to live a happy and peaceful life.
May this 29 General Conference of The World Fellowship of Buddhists at Narita, Japan
th
proceed with success. May you all be blessed with happiness and prosperity in the true teachings
of the Buddha.
Thank you
(Vira Rojpojchanarat)
Minister of Culture
