AILFN is a new trade association to represent the common interests of global and regional
law firm networks. AILFN has four purposes: (1) Enhance the position and recognition of
all networks in the legal market (Section III page 13); (2) Establish common principles to
maintain standards of quality; (3) Provide a forum for networks to exchange information;
and (4) Negotiate agreements with vendors that can increase the efficiency and
effectiveness of network. Membership in AILFN is limited to networks who meet
established membership criteria. AILFN, a Delaware corporation, will be owned by the
membership.
8. Will there be meetings?
At the beginning there will be an annual meeting. As AILFN develops other meetings will be
established depending on the benefits.
9. How is AILFN being organized?
AILFM is being organized by a group of present and past law firm network executives who see
the value in working together for the common objectives of each of their networks.
10. Do the committee have list of the networks being considered for membership?
Yes, there is a detailed list of networks. However, this list is private at this point to provide all
networks to have the opportunity to independently evaluate AILFN.
11. How can my network participate in the organization process?
If you have an interest in participating in the process, please contact one of the members of the
organization committee.
12. Who owns AILFN?
AILFN is a Delaware non-share corporation owned by the membership. Many of the networks
have the same corporate structure as do the vereins.
13. What will it cost?
The board of directors will annually agree on a budget. Dues will be established based upon the
budget. The initial amount of dues is set at $7,000.
The objective is to offset dues by non-dues revenues as a result of the leverage provided by
200,000 attorneys in 5,000 offices.
14. Will third parties be involved with AILFN?
AILFN will negotiate with sponsoring organizations to provide members discounts. As agreed to
by the board, it may also enter into joint activities. However, membership is AILFN is strictly
limited to law firm networks.
15. Will there be a corporate counsel advisory board?
Yes.
