RUINED LIVES & RELATIONSHIPS
Our Client had done work on an existing pipeline but didn’t get paid. The unpaid amount
represented this company’s largest past-due account receivable and there was great
concern. When our law firm researched the matter, we discovered the Debtor had been
hired by the owner of the pipeline to do repairs and improvements and our Client was a
subcontractor for a relatively small part. The total contract represented many millions of
dollars of annual work for the Debtor.
Just like when equipment or services is done on an oil well, work on a pipeline can be
secured by a mineral lien in Texas. We advised our Client to allow us to promptly file a
mineral lien on the pipeline notifying the Debtor and the pipeline owner. Doré Rothberg
