Diagnosis procedure IN
Caution
●Before the following steps are executed, ensure that the connection between the ECM and the DI
camshaft position sensor is well connected.
● Before performing electrical diagnosis and test, refer to the schematic wiring diagram and EG
components information.
● Before measuring, check if the pins of connector are broken, loose or corroded. Make sure the pins in TR
good contact.
1. Read the DTC and data on the diagnosis instrument

a. Start the engine and run it to the normal working temperature
b. Use the diagnosis instrument to perform DTC confirmation procedure
FR
c. Use the diagnosis instrument to read the sensor data stream
d. The engine runs at idle
ST
e. Adopt the diagnostic unit to read the waveform of camshaft position sensor.
Check if the result is ok? BR
Yes>intermittent failure
NO>go to Step 2. BW
2. Check the power circuit of camshaft position sensor..
a. Ignition switch: ON. EL
b. Measure the voltage of #1 pin to ground from the back of
A010 connector of camshaft position sensor.
Standard voltage:
Multimeter connection Standard value
A010(1)-grounding About 5V
Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 3.
No>check, repair or replace the power harness of sensor.
3. Check the ground circuit of camshaft position sensor.
a. Ignition switch: LOCK.
b. Disconnect the cable of battery negative pole
c. Disconnect the ECM connector A001 and camshaft position sensor connector A010.
