IN - 36 Introduction - How to remove the vehicle faults

● Please remedy the faults as per the operating procedures described below.
● For each circuit, its most effective fault remedy method is described in this manual. (refer to
Chapter DI Diagnosis)
● Before starting the repair operation, be sure to determine the fault remedy procedures of relevant
circuit first.
3. The faulty vehicle enters into the factory.
4. The clients describe the fault analysis.
a. Consult the conditions and environment of client’s vehicle if any fault occurs.
5. Confirmation of fault symptom and DTC (including data flow) check.

a. Measure the voltage of battery.
Voltage: 11 to 14V (at closed state of engine)

b. Visually check the harness, connector and fuses for broken circuit or short circuit.
c. Start the engine, and heat it up to normal operating temperature.
d. Confirm the fault symptom and setting conditions, and check DTC.
Does DTC appear?
Yes>go to Step 6.
NO>go to Step 7.
6. Check DTC list.

a. Check DTC of Step 5 and then DTC list, and prepare the inspection procedures of systems or parts as per
“Faulty Parts”.
Go to Step 7 directly.
7. Check the list of fault symptom.
a. Check the fault symptom of Step 5 and then list of fault symptom, and prepare the inspection procedures of
systems or parts as per “Suspected Parts”.
8. Check the circuits and parts.
a. Check the system circuits or parts possible to cause the fault potentials in Steps 4 and 5.
b. Confirm the faulty circuits or parts.
9. Maintenance
a. Adjust, repair or replace the faulty circuits or parts as per the inspection results in Step 6.
10. Confirmatory test
a. After finishing the repair, be sure to confirm the removal of fault.
b. If no fault reappears, simulate the state of vehicle and environment during the first occurrence of this fault,
and perform its confirmatory test.
11. Completed
The clients describe the fault analysis process.
Caution
● In case of remedying the fault, be sure to finish its correct judgement and confirm the fault symptom.
● It’s very important to consult the conditions and environment of client’s vehicle if any fault occurs.
● Some unrelated faults and repair experiences can also assist in fault analysis. Try to collect the
information as much as possible, and the information related to fault symptom can provide reference
for fault remedy.
● In order to determine the fault symptom correctly, the client usually pays attention to 5 items
below while describing the fault analysis.
