Heater and AC-Evaporator
Overhaul
Notess:
The evaporator is assembled under the instrument panel where a lot of parts of locate (there is
control wire circuit, control box and meters etc.), so please be careful during assembly not to
damage those parts. Think about the insert angle of drainpipe and make the condensation
water discharged to outside of vehicle smoothly. For the installation of expansion valve
temperature sensing part, please pay more attention to that during assembly because it will
influence the opening degree and sensitivity of the expansion valve: the temperature sensing
part of expansion valve and outlet pipe of evaporator should be fixed by clamp. Wrap
expansion valve temperature sensing part by heat insulation material in order to avoid it from
contact with outside air. Different models of thermistor will generate different reaction
temperatures which will cause bad effects like frost or cut off earlier etc.; so the thermistor
matching with amplifier should be used.
1. Discharge refrigerant (refer to “Chapter 51 Heater and AC-Refrigerant, Replacement”)
2. Disassemble front cover assembly (refer to “Chapter 77 Inner/outer trimming
parts-Front cover assembly, Replacement”)
3. Disconnect the connection of AC pipe
(a). Screw off the bolt from AC pipe clamp
(b). Loose connection nut of AC pipe.
4. Disassemble the instrument panel (refer to “Chapter 73 Instrument panel/combined
meters/cigar liter-Instrument panel, Replacement)
5. Disassemble instrument panel installation cross member welding assembly (refer to 51
“Chapter 51 Heater and AC-Heater, Replacement”)
6. Disassemble evaporator assembly
(a). Loose 2 bolts and disasemble fuse box.
(b). Disconnect inserts and loose 5 bolts to
disassemble evaporator assembly.
