Diagnosis – Illumination

1. Checking courtesy light switch

(a) Remove front ceiling light assembly (refer to “Chapter 54 Illumination-Front Ceiling Light
Assembly, Replacement”).

(b) Check courtesy light switch.

Resistances:
Use a multimeter Specified
Condition
to connect pins value
Front ceiling light
04 switch OFF 1 - 2 > 1 MΩ
Front ceiling light 1 - 2 ≤ 2 Ω
switch ON

Are check results normal?

Yes > Go to step 2.
No > Replace front ceiling light assembly.

2. Checking door light switch

(a) Check door light switch.

Resistances:

Use a multimeter Specified
Condition
to connect pins value
Pressed 1-ground > 1 MΩ

Released 1-ground ≤ 2 Ω

Are check results normal?
Yes > Repair or replace harnesses.
No > Replace door light switch.
