Introduction-How to Troubleshoot the Vehicle
• Check contact pressure of pin:
Get a male plug ready, and then insert it
into a female plug to check its junction
and sliding resistance.
Material same as that for
male plug is used.
(d) Maintenance method for connector pins
• If a contact is stained with oil, be
sure to clean it with an air gun or
rag. Never use a sand cloth to
polish it, otherwise its
electro-deposited coating may be
damaged.
Correct Incorrect • If contact pressure is abnormal,
replace female plug. At this time,
be sure to replace with a
01 gold-plated female plug if the
male plug is gold-plated; be sure
to replace with a silver-plated
female plug if the male plug is
silver-plated.
(e) Precautions for harness operations
Incorrect • Before starting to remove a
harness, be sure to check
locations of the harness and its
ties for accurate reinstallation.
• If unnecessary, never twist, pull,
or loosen the harness.
• Never allow the harness to
contact any hot, rotating, moving,
vibrating, or sharp (e.g. panel
edge and screw tip) part.
• When installing a part, never
squeeze or pinch its harness.
• Never cut or break insulation sheath
of any harness. In the case of
inadvertent breakage, be sure to
replace the harness or bind up the
breakage with insulating cloth.
2. Open-circuit check
(a) The circuit is shown in the left figure.
Perform continuity check and voltage
Open circuit check in steps (b) and (c) respectively in
Sensor
order to locate open.
