Introduction-How to Troubleshoot the Vehicle
(c) Voltage check
• When a circuit is energized, you
can determine if its loop is
open-circuited by checking its
sensor voltage.
Take this circuit as an example. All
connectors are still connected.
Sequentially measure voltages to ground
of pins 1 of connectors Aand B at 5V
output pin of the control module
respectively.
• voltages to ground of pins 1 of
connectorsC
If the measurement results are as
follows:
5 V: voltage to ground of pin 1 of
connector A
01 5 V: voltage to ground of pin 1 of
connector B
0 V: voltage to ground of pin 1 of
connector C
Then you can judge that there is an open
circuit between pins 1 of connectors B
and C.
3. Short-circuit check
(a) A harness ground short circuit is shown
Short circuit in the left figure. In step (b), continuity
sensor
between it and ground is checked in
order to locate short circuit.
