Diagnosis-audio system

Diagnostic Procedure

• Ignition switch: ON.
• Depress power switch of audio unit.
• Turn up audio unit to above 5 VOL.
• Check and make sure MUTE key is OFF.

Check if speaker makes sounds.
Yes > Audio unit settings are incorrect.
No > Go to step 1.
1. Checking speakers
(a) Ignition switch: OFF.
(b) Remove left and right speakers. (Refer to “Chapter 56 Audio System-Speaker,
Replacement”.) 4
(c) Check speaker cone for breakage.
(d) Use a multimeter to measure resistances
between connector pins 1 and 2 of left
and right speakers E002 and D002
respectively.
Resistance: 8Ω

Are check results normal?
Yes > Go to step 2.
No > Replace speaker.
2. Checking signal circuit of speaker

(a) Disconnect audio unit connector.
