Diagnosis-audio system

Diagnostic Procedure

1. Checking audio unit settings
(a) Ignition switch: ON.
(b) Depress power switch of audio unit.
(c) Turn up audio unit to above 5 VOL.
(d) Set “BAL” to 0.
Check speakers for normal volume.
Yes > CD or MP3 audio unit settings are incorrect.
No > Go to step 2.
2. Checking speakers
(a) Ignition switch: OFF.
(b) Check left and right speaker cones for breakage.

(c) Use a multimeter to measure resistances
between connector pins 1 and 2 of left
and right speakers E002 and D002
respectively.
Resistance: 8Ω

Are check results normal?
Yes > Go to step 3.
No > Replace speakers.
3. Checking speaker circuits

(a) Disconnect audio unit connector.
