(b) Use a multimeter to measure resistances
between connector pins 2 and 6 and 1
and 5 of audio unit B045 respectively.
Resistance: >1MΩ

Is check result normal?

4 Yes > Go to step 3.
No > Repair signal line short between connector pins 2 and 6 and 1 and 5 of audio unit B045.
3. Checking for speaker signal circuit short

(a) Use a multimeter to measure resistances
to ground of connector pins 1, 2, 5, and 6
of audio unit B045 respectively.
Resistance: >1MΩ

Are check results normal?
Yes > Go to step 4.
No > Repair lines to ground short between connector pins 1, 2, 5, and 6 of audio unit B045 and
connector pins 1 and 2 of left and right speakers E002 and D002.
4. Checking for speaker signal circuit short

(a) Ignition switch: ON.
(b) Use a multimeter to measure voltages to
ground of connector pins 1, 2, 5, and 6 of
audio unit B045 respectively.
Voltage: 0V

Are check results normal?
Yes > Replace CD or MP3 audio unit.
No > Repair lines to power short between connector pins 1, 2, 5, and 6 of audio unit B045 and
connector pins 1 and 2 of left and right speakers E002 and D002.
