Diagnosis-audio system

Speaker tone quality is poor only when playing cd or mp3.

Diagnostic procedure

1. Checking source file of CD or MP3 media
(a) Replace with a known genuine CD or MP3 source file and play.
Check speakers for normal tone quality.
Yes > Please use genuine CD or MP3.
No > Go to step 2.
2. Checking audio unit settings
(a) Ignition switch: ON.
(b) Depress power switch of audio unit.
4 (c) Turn up audio unit to above 5 VOL.
(d) Set “BAS”, “TRE”, and “BAL” to their respective initial settings.
(e) Press “VOL” (volume control key) and hold for more than 2 seconds to enable loudness
function.
(f) In CD mode, press “CD” key in turn to select sound field mode according to genre of the
music to be played: “FLAT” (flat), “JAZZ” (jazz), “POP” (popular), “CLASSIC” (classical),
“ROCK” (rock-and-roll), and “VOCAL” (vocal music).
Check speakers for normal tone quality.
Yes > CD or MP3 audio unit settings are incorrect.
No > Replace CD or MP3 audio unit.
