Transmission (646b/651b)-transmission assembly
Overhaul
1. Put the transmission assembly on the stable working platform

2. Remove the clutch housing assembly
(a). Remove the clutch release bearing. (Refer to “chapter
32 clutch- clutch assembly part, overhaul”)
(b). Loosen the 6 clutch housing bolts and remove the
clutch housing.

3. Remove the center brake assembly.
(a). Remove the central braking drum.

(b). Loosen the flange nut and remove the flange.
Hint:
Push aside the flange nut spring leaf before loosening the
flange nut.

Notice:
The secondary-axle flange nut loosened ccan’t be used
31A again, replace it with a new one.

(c). Loosen the 4 bolts and remove the center brake
assembly with baffle plate.
HINT:
The flanges of the non-center brake vehicles can be
removed directly.
