Echoes of Sacrifice
Natasha Maatla kanokang (Year 9 Benue ) reflects on her experience during the
Armed Forces Remembrance Day Event
n Wednesday, the 15th of January,
Nigeria observed Armed Forces Re-
O membrance Day to honour the sac-
rifices of soldiers who dedicated their lives
to securing peace and safety.
Each student and house contributed do-
nations to support widows of fallen soldiers
and the Nigerian Army Association.
The day began with an assembly, opened
by a speech from the principal honouring
the fallen heroes. Performances from vari-
ous houses paid tribute to the armed forces.
Benue House presented a poetry recital
titled The Echoes of Sacrifice, expressing
gratitude for the heroes’ bravery.
The assembly concluded with cheques of
N1 million each given to three widows and
another N1 million donated to the Nigerian
Army Association.
The event reflected unity, gratitude, and
support for the families of fallen heroes.
