CHAPTER 8
REPORT FORMAT
The project activities that require the Wildlife Impact Study Report of the WCA Order shall follow
the general specifications and format. The Wildlife Impact Study Report is structured according to
the step-by-step procedures and shall, at a minimum, contain Chapters 1 to 5 with their respective
supporting sections, as illustrated in Table 8.1.
Format structures of the report are as follows:
Chapter 1: Introduction
Provide information on:
a. Project layout as approved in the Development Order by Local Authority;
b. Project implementation schedule;
c. Name of the Wildlife Impact Study preparer and consulting firm;
d. Objectives, scope and structure.
Chapter 2: Method Statements
A wildlife survey is a method to recognise the wildlife species’ presence at the proposed project
and its surrounding areas. Understanding the wildlife’s current status and distribution is important
before running the rescue operations before and during construction phases. The data would also
be very helpful in predicting human-wildlife conflict in the future in the surrounding communities.
A detailed field methodology for Wildlife Impact Study is described in Chapter 4.
Chapter 3: Baseline Data
Provides an outline of the relevant baseline information, such as major findings of wildlife species
highlighted in the Wildlife Impact Study Report and gathered elsewhere from the field and other
reports, as well as interviews that were found to be associated with the Wildlife Impact Study.
Chapter 4: Evaluation of Impacts
Accurately predicting and evaluating the impacts is important in designing wildlife management
and rescue plan. Prediction of changes or alterations of biological characteristics resulting from
the implementation of a proposed project is compulsory for wildlife management. A detailed field
evaluation of the impact on wildlife is described in Chapter 6.
