Pocket Guide to Knots & Splices

Stopper knots are tied at the end of a rope. They can be used to

stop a rope pulling through a hole, or to stop the ends of a rope
from fraying. They can provide a handhold, or give extra weight to

the end of a rope to help when throwing it. They can be the

simplest of knots or the most complex and decorative.
