                   Understand the importance of culture and diversity to organizations.
                   They should appreciate the need for effective group consultation and
                   teamwork, within diverse and cross-functional environments, in
                   accomplishing organizational goals.

            Admission to the Program
            Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
            and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or better (on a 4.0-point
            scale). Applicants with a cumulative grade point average between 2.5 and 2.74
            may be conditionally admitted depending on the  strength of the of their
            undergraduate college algebra and statistics (if less than a “B” grade) and/or if
            they are coming  from a major outside of government  or political science.
            Conditional admission  will be removed  with the attainment of  a cumulative
            grade point average of 3.0  or better after the completion of the required
            prerequisites and the first nine graduate  credit hours. If  the  student fails  to
            accomplish same, he or she will not be allowed to continue in the MPA degree
            program. Applicants who wish to pursue the MPA degree will submit their
            undergraduate transcripts to the Office of the Graduate Registrar showing that
            they received a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. All applicants
            are required to have a grade point average of 2.5 or better.

            Conditional admission will also apply to any student accepted into the program
            with prerequisites. Students in the MPA program must meet all of the
            prerequisite requirements for admission as stated below. Conditional admission
            will be removed with the attainment of a cumulative grade point average of 3.0
            or better after the completion of the required prerequisites and the first nine
            graduate credit hours. If the student fails to accomplish same, he or she will not
            be allowed to continue in the MPA degree program.

               •   Students who transfer to the MPA program from other accredited
                   graduate programs may be allowed to transfer no more than six credits
                   provided those credits meet the requirements for course work leading
                   to the MPA degree.
