                    degree with training in literary and rhetorical theory, digital
                    humanities, cultural studies, language, global literature, and writing;
                • Teach on the secondary or collegiate levels and wish to advance their
                    understanding of literary texts, rhetorical arts, and culturally-engaged

                • Desire to study the art of persuasion, textual analysis, and critical

                    inspires, challenges, and transforms us.

            The program is distinctive in its emphasis on digital humanities. Once known as
            humanities computing, digital humanities is an approach to learning and
            conducting research that emphasizes
                • Building fluid, mobile networks of investigators,
                • Exploring texts from multiple perspectives,
                • Using and developing digital methods and tools, and
                • Presenting research in digital forms and through social media.
            It promotes local and global considerations of texts in light of what it means to
            human and digitally connected.
