COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Preferably students should have completed HURD 690, 730, 732, 741 before entering this class.
Students with prior training experience would be a possible exception with permission of the
Instructor.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will focus on the current methods of workforce performance improvement from the
determination of the needs of a given organization through design, facilitation and evaluation
interventions necessary to meet the needs of the organization. The class will additionally focus on
Consultations by which organizational structure deficiencies that impede appropriate workforce
performance may be adjusted. Topics include current issues in adult learning, human performance
improvement, consultant-client relationships, performance metrics and trends affecting learning and
performance in the workplace.
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
1) Analyze the performance needs of an organization and determine the appropriateness of
training in resolving these needs.
2) Construct a competency model to determine what performance is required.
3) Identify specific individual learning needs of the group in accordance with the criteria
established during the course.
4) Construct performance objectives that are measurable, state the level of acceptable
performance (criteria/standards) and any conditions under which terminal behavior is to
occur.
5) Construct objectives in the cognitive, psychomotor, and the affective domains.
6) Develop a curriculum that will achieve the objectives in accordance with the criteria
established during the class.
7) Develop learning activities that are congruent in domain with the objectives they are to
achieve.
