The Human Resource Development
                                                                            Orientation Handbook and Research Guide

Human Resource Development Program of Study

               Suggested Study Plans:
Once you have determined how much time you can commit to each semester, you can begin to
develop your plan of study. Keep in mind that you have seven (7) years to complete all requirements
for the degree. This includes 39 credit hours (courses), thesis, and comprehensive exam. Remember,
the HRD program offers Winter, Spring, Summer I, Summer II, and Fall classes, but not all courses
are offered each semester. Also, some courses require prerequisite courses that you must take prior
to enrolling in that course or you may need a required number of total course hours prior to taking a
               course.

As the Graduate Catalog states, a quality degree program is not an accumulation of credit hours,
but is a carefully developed sequence of educational activities and experiences designed to help the
student achieve the specified objectives of the program. Your advisor can help you plan
accordingly. The tables below show examples of recommended study plans.

How many years it will take to get your HRD degree depends on you. Determine how much time
you can commit each week and then sit down and discuss your goals and develop a plan with your
advisor. This plan is not set in stone so you can amend it when you need to—just plan on completing
all requirements within seven (7) years.

Study Plan based on taking four (4) classes a semester plus mini semesters – ACCELERATED
               18 months to complete program.
