This course is designed to have students understand the clear
distinctions between organization behavior and organization theory.
The intent is to explain how organizations are structured around critical
topics that are relevant for analyzing how employees are led and
motivated to perform work. Students learn organizational theories that
define the relationships between structure and job design, technology
and performance. Employee work behaviors are tied to the socio-
technical systems, techno-structural systems, and the job tasks that
help to define how work is to be performed. Taken together these
topics examine and define how the total organization operates under
ideal circumstances.
