A faculty under temporary status may be terminated without
necessarily being replaced by another or may be replaced within the twelve month
period by a qualified applicant.
A 30-day written notice signed by the appointing authority shall be
issued to the faculty with temporary appointment prior to the termination of
his/her service.
4. All appointments whether permanent, temporary or contract of service shall pass
through the University Faculty Recruitment, Selection and Promotion Board (UFRSPB).
5. Except for meritorious reasons, the entry level for original appointments shall be the
lowest grade of the faculty rank to which the applicant or transferee is qualified, i.e.,
Instructor I, Assistant Professor I, Associate Professor I, and Professor I.
6. Recruitment and appointment to a faculty position shall be based on the following factors:
6.1 education;
6.2eligibility (if applicable);
6.3 experience;
6.4 professional development;
6.5 panel interview;
6.6 personality and psychological examination;
6.7 demonstration teaching, and
6.8writing skills
7. An applicant to be appointed to permanent status shall not be more than 50
years old.
8. Faculty recruitment shall be based on need using the results of the Faculty
Need Analysis.
9. An applicant shall be ranked based on the following factors:
a. Qualifications based on NBC 461 CCE points (50% of 200 pts) 100 pts.
b. Panel interview that determines the applicant’s potential, 20 pts.
and psycho-social attributes (Dean/ARA, Subject Specialist,
Prof. Educ. Rep., Faculty Asso. Pres.)
Demonstration teaching: 35 pts.
Students 10 pts.
Subject Specialist 15 pts.
Professional Education Representative 10 pts.
Appropriate Skills 25pts.
Writing skills 25 pts.
Total------------------------- 180 pts.
