Yangming mountain is located in the Datuen volcanic area. The volcanic activity produces geothermal
energy, therefore, it has abundant hot spring resources. Its hot springs are mainly white sulphur
springs and green sulphur springs. It is listed along with Beitou Hot Spring, Guanziling Hot Spring
and Sizhongxi Hot Spring as Taiwan's top four hot springs, and is a rare natural resource in the
suburbs of Taipei.In addition, Yangming mountain has two parks, Qianshan Park and Yangming
Park. Every year, both parks are very popular and attract lots of tourists when azaleas and cherry
blossoms are blooming.

Qianshan Park in Yangming mountain is located in front of the Shamao Mountain and is
intertwined with several mountain spring waterways, white sulphur hot spring waterways and
Yangming mountain volcanic rock. The public bath hall in the park was formerly known as the “Grass
Mountain hot spring bath“ , built in the Japanese occupation in 1930. In the 1950s, the Yangming
mountain Park Management Office demolished the old bath hall and replaced with two free public
bath halls, and took in charge of its management.

Because Qianshan Park is located on top of Yangming Mountain with high humidity, it’s covered
with green moss. The trees’ roots are entangled in the knots. The Japanese national treasure level’s
stone masons instructed the construction of the waterside scenery stone. The sound of the shallow
water is filled in the ear endlessly. The water in Yangming Lake, after the dredging, presents a dreamy
blue color, which is rare among Taiwan lake sceneries. It is facing to the Shamao Mountain from afar.
In addition, the hot spring source, with water temperature above 70 degrees Celsius, flows through
the park, and the outdoors foot bathing spots in the park, created a pleasant park that people could
enjoy flowers viewing in spring, cool temperatures in summer, maples watching in autumn, and hot
spring bath in winter, where seasonal specials and beautiful scenery are always different and filled
with greens. This Park is a great destination for relaxing on weekends and is one of the specialty
sightseeing spots that leads visitors to learn about the characteristics of Taipei's geological landscape.
