Taipei Travel Plaza is located in an important transportation hub and gateway in Taipei. In addition
to playing a new role of traffic network under the ground and a multi- functional of convergence,
guidance and evacuation for the six railways and traveler's traffic; the ground floor is a serial
connection of people -oriented traffic flow for the green opened space sake. This space links the
landscape axes of the North Gate, Taipei Station and the old Taipei City Council site to create a
national gateway image and landmark.

Other than that, the name of Taipei Travel Plaza is a demonstration of the democracy of Taipei
residents. It was named by the Taipei City Government in April for i-Voting, and was named "Taipei
Travel Plaza". This plaza opens a new prelude to the Taipei story. It is hoped that the West District will
not only be a relay point for the transportation hub, but also a spot where local people and foreigners
can stop to read and feel the difference of Taipei’s pulsations, exchange opinions and feel the beauty of
the green city living room that is an overlapping fusion of new and old Taipei.
