The launch of " West District Gateway Project" by Taipei City Government. After the demolition
of the Zhongxiao Bridge approach during the Lunar New Year in 2016, one year and seven months
since then, the northern gate of Taipei, had hidden in the old city of Taipei, and was surrounded by
a viaduct for the past 40 years, the old city culture of Taipei has finally reappeared. Finally, with the
grand opening of the Taoyuan Airport MRT, it could be displayed at the gateway, presenting a new
visual and cultural feast to domestic and foreign travelers. It was officially announced to be opened
on July 29th. More than 6,000 square meters of green open space was added overnight around the
Taipei Station in this urban jungle. Its appearance has also promoted the surrounding historical sites.
The early Taipei cultural background story revived and gradually built up the historical and cultural
atmosphere, restored the landscape of the old city, and erected a new landmark at the Taipei gateway.
