P A R K Recreate the Memory of the History, and
Construct a Quality Living Space with Water
and Green Space
It has been more than 100 years since Hsinchu Park was open.
Hsinchu It is an urban oasis with the area of 18 hectares in East District
in Hsinchu City, and this park has the rich internal space
Park arrangement and the external landscape. This place bears the
memory of historic evolution. In the Japanese Governing Period,
Hsinchu City
it was the Autonomy Guild Hall, the Earthquake Observing
Station, and the Air-force Senior Officers’ dormitories. It was
announced by the Japanese Government as “Hsinchu Park” in
1916, and completed construction and opened in 1926. In 2016,
it was reconstructed, and has become the largest park in Hsinchu
City.
In the park, there are the Lichi Pond, the green pines and verdant
cypresses, along with luxuriant and well-spaced flowers and trees.
It also has the first zoo and the first Public Glass Craft Museum in
Taiwan. It even consists of the Air Force No. 11 Village, the Wind
City’s Prospect Gallery, the Confucius Temple, and the gym.
Moreover, there is Holiday Flower Market in the park. However,
such convenient touring field has become broken in regard of the
hardware facilities, which is due to different policies and missions
in the past, leading to insufficient systematic planning. Also, it is
ill managed, and lacks an effective marketing and developing plan.
In 2017, Hsinchu City Government launched “the Reborn Plan of
Hsinchu Park”, which emphasizes nature, green space, and water
friendliness, and it also reserves the relics and old trees so as to
recreate the Japanese-styled architecture and landscape. Under
the concept of parent-child relationship, touring, international
trend, culture & creativity, and uniqueness, Hsinchu Park has
been reconstructed based on the ecological clusters, and culture &
history through improving water quality, constructing the wind
gallery route, structure & method, as well as hardware facilities.
