Planning of Park and Green Spaces

Due to the rapid development of social economy, the fast increase of city number, population,
land, and the expansion of city scale, the phenomenon of urbanization is accelerating, resulting
in kinds of contradictions. How to work on constructions without affecting the environment
too much, and decide either economic development or ecology and life is the priority are
subjects that human beings must face today. The development of the urban green space system
needs to consider the environment symbiosis. Under the principle of preserving the city's
natural resources, we should take the urban green space life as the core thinking and take the
"people" living welfare and green space long-term plan as major factors to build the urban
green space system of Taipei City.

A healthy urban green space environment should have a spatial resource balance of various
scales. Therefore, in the city there should have small natural green, medium-sized natural green,
and close to large natural green space that people can get close to so that a healthy urban green
space can be achieved. Under such a concept, we try to comment in the perspective of city
residents who are the everyday users, go from the point of people and point of life to establish
a park green space system with "life" as the core. A city that coexists with the environment is a
city where the three elements of “society -economy -nature” are mutually symbiotic. The green
space system in Taipei is based on the “ecological /green infrastructue” structure that becomes
the corresponding role of the metropolitan center's natural environment. This system will make
the ideal parks and green spaces for people come true from the bottom up. Eventually, it will
become a sustainable urban form that takes into consideration the nature preservation and
restoration, and that creates a close connection between people.
