Community Scale: Creating Green Space with Connotations
of Living Quality

Parks and green spaces have important influences on the initiation, promotion
and continuation of human living quality in the context of urban development.
Up to now, the improvement of education level and the popularity of
information have made the definition of achievement and the imagination of
life more inclusive and diverse. The definition of living quality is now broader
and richer. Parks and green spaces, as an extension of nature in the city, are
interacting more frequently, presenting more diverse spatial connotations and
transforming sustainable ideas and living trends.

Take a look at the fulfilled practice of various green actions by Taipei residents
in parks, you can have a glimpse of the rich life connotations achieved by urban
green space: the farmers’ market in Taipei Flora Expo Park, the second-hand
market in Ximending Film Park, and the large picnic day on the riverside,
pursuing wind by riding a bicycle, bird watching and ecological education in
the Guandu Nature Park, and community-adopted patch of vegetables along
the Roosevelt Road. They all have repeatedly demonstrated the practice of
diversified living in parks and green spaces.
