                  Salted herbs






        From the book Les Recettes des fermières du Québec




          Ingredients:

               Chives,

               savory,                          shredded carrots,
               parsley,                         celery leaves

               chervil,                         onion tails





           Préparation:

           Put all ingredients in a jar alternating

           with coarse salt; add 2 tbsp. of cold

           water.

           Cover and let stand for a while.

           This recipe can be kept all winter long,

           it gives good taste to pea soup,

           omelettes and hash browns.
