Beginner Level 2 - Forearm Pass
As the player becomes proficient at putting the hands together correctly and forming the passing
platform, we want to incorporate several points of emphasis. First, master the ability to redirect the
ball from right to left or left to right. Second, we want to integrate movement into the skill. Third,
making an early commitment to the pass. Verbalizing the intention to pass is an essential habit.
Last, incorporate the vision component by encouraging the athletes to pick up the incoming ball's
trajectory and location as soon as possible. Again, verbalizing what the passer sees, i.e., "short" or
"deep," indicates they are picking up the ball's trajectory and speed.
