Rejected the normalization agreement between the UAE and Israel, considering it a
"betrayal of Jerusalem," according to what AFP reported. It also called for a meeting of the
League of Arab States.Nabil Abu Rudeineh, a spokesman for the Palestinian presidency,
confirmed in a televised statement on state television that the agreement "undermined the
Arab peace initiative," which is "a betrayal of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, the decisions of the
Arab and Islamic summits, international legitimacy, and an aggression against the
Palestinian people."
In the context, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided Thursday to summon the
Palestinian ambassador to the UAE immediately after announcing an agreement to
normalize relations between the UAE and Israel, which the Palestinian presidency
considered "treason."
In an official statement, Palestinian Foreign Minister’ Riyad Al-Maliki’ announced, "Based on
the instructions of President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, and
following the American-Israeli-Emirati trilateral statement to normalize Israeli-Emirati
relations, the Palestinian ambassador was summoned from the UAE and immediately."
