3.1.2 User Functional Requirements
Import Matters
It is likely that all organizations who are taking their first steps in reporting cross-
border arrangements to their local authority, are already likely to have a large
backfill of matters that they will need to report retrospectively, as the directive
came into force on June 25th 2018.
Due to the possibility that backfills are likely to be extensive, Ghost Digital & Data
are being proactive by offering a service in the form of a discovery workshop. The
workshops are designed to assist in extracting matter data which will be used to
build an Excel Spreadsheet (repository). The XML spreadsheet will then be
imported into the DAC6 reporting module, resulting in a DAC6 file entry for each
matter extracted during the discovery process.
NOTE: In addition to the workshops, Ghost Digital & Data can also offer a series
of bespoke data connectors to accurately identify matters and extract the
necessary data from the appropriate sources. Together the workshops and data
connectors can assist greatly in:
1. Identifying generic matter data such as client reference, matter
reference, client name and alike.
2. Automatically including any matching hallmarks, based on exact matching
of words/paragraphs defined prior to the discovery process
3. Scoring and ranking. By ranking files the software can present them in
order of priority based on date and the probability of the matter
including a cross-border arrangement.
4. Retrieving data from existing systems.
The services offered by Ghost Digital & Data will significantly reduce the man
hours required to identify historical matters that may need reporting to the
chosen local authority.
